Stars gather for Reprieve’s innovative House of Trivia gala quiz
November 10, 2011
Legal action charity Reprieve will tonight (Thursday) host London’s star-studded House of Trivia in support of our vital work on death rows and in Guantánamo Bay.
Broadcaster Jon Snow will host teams from Christian Dior, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Vivienne Westwood, Vogue, Mishcon de Reya, Condé Nast, The Body Shop and more, as they work their way around a maze on the spectacular 33rd floor of London’s Broadgate Tower answering bespoke celebrity-penned questions.A quiz night with a difference, the House of Trivia concept has been developed and hosted only twice before in New York by supermodel Jaquetta Wheeler, who has now brought the format to London. Each team must find its way from one themed room to another by answering timed trivia questions pertaining to the theme of each room. Questions have been prepared by Gordon Brown (Politics), Colin Firth and Helen Mirren (Film), Imran Khan (Sports), Ben Goldacre (Science), Stephen Fry (Literature), John Humphrys (History), Massive Attack and Lily Allen (Music) and Richard Branson (Geography). Quiz participants include Jemima Khan, Vivienne Westwood, Bianca Jagger, Pippa Holt and Ben Goldsmith. The winning team wins a holiday in Tangier, Morocco with other prizes including a Grand Tier box for twelve at the Royal Albert Hall’s upcoming production of Aida. Reprieve’s Jaquetta Wheeler said: “I am delighted to be hosting Reprieve’s House of Trivia, which promises a spectacular venue, mind-twisting challenges and celebrity guests who are as competitive as they are glamorous! We predict an unforgettable evening for a truly inspiring cause.” ENDS Notes to editors 1.
