Shirly joined Reprieve in April 2020 as a Fellow working on the Kenya re-sentencing project.

Prior to joining Reprieve, Shirly was a Legal Officer at Ogendi & Company Advocates. She is a professional mediator and a human rights practitioner with experience from various organizations including the African Court on Human Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR), Arusha; Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kenya and Elections Observation Group (ELOG), Kenya. Her legal practice and research interests include human rights, health, electoral law, Commercial law and public interest litigation. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from Kenyatta University.
