Get Jagtar Home
Jagtar Singh Johal has been arbitrarily detained and living with the threat of a death sentence in an Indian jail for over eight years. Jagtar is a Scottish blogger and activist who drew attention to historic human rights abuses against India’s Sikh population.
In November 2017, whilst in India to get married, Jagtar was abducted off the street by plain clothes police officers, tortured and forced to confess to trumped-up political charges.
End Citizenship stripping
Over the last fourteen years, few other countries have stripped their citizens of nationality as readily as the UK, an extreme power held by the Home Secretary that leaves people vulnerable to abuses.
It is inherently racist, gives the Home Secretary far too much power, and denies British people in extremely high risk situations the protections they would be entitled to as citizens.
