Our Free Wills offer
We’ve partnered with Make a Will Online to offer you a solicitor-checked, secure way to write your Will – free of charge. It’s easy to include a gift to Reprieve, if you choose to. Every Will is checked by a fully qualified solicitor and you can get your questions answered if needed.

Only simple Wills are covered by this arrangement and there are times when a face-to-face conversation with a solicitor may be best. If your estate is particularly large or complex, or you have specific health or capacity considerations, or if you have any other concerns that are not answered by Make a Will Online, we recommend seeking legal advice.
When you make a Will using the Make a Will Online service, Reprieve receives information about your Will, such as your name, year of birth, contact details and any gifts you’ve chosen to leave. You can also let us know if it’s okay to contact you to say thank you and keep in touch. This helps us with our planning. How do I leave a gift in my Will to Reprieve?
Writing or amending your Will can feel like a daunting or scary process, but it can give you peace of mind and will mean your loved ones are cared for according to your wishes.
After you have looked after your friends and family, it also gives you an opportunity to help Reprieve to fight for justice for people facing extreme human rights abuses for years to come.
If you would like to include a gift to Reprieve in your Will, you can do so in the way that is best for you and your loved ones. Your donation will also be free from inheritance tax, and you can read more about inheritance tax here.
There are three types of gift you can leave:
A residuary gift
this is a share of, or the remainder of your estate once you have taken care of loved ones
A pecuniary gift
a fixed amount of money of any size
A specific gift
a particular item like a property

How do I amend or update my Will?
We always recommend you consult a lawyer or a solicitor if you have questions on your Will. A solicitor can also help you with wording and other services.
If you decide to include a gift to Reprieve, your solicitor can advise you on the appropriate wording.

If you choose to leave a gift to Reprieve, you could share this sample wording with your lawyer:
“I wish to leave a gift to Reprieve, registered charity number: 1114900, Reprieve, c/o Sedulo, Office 605, Albert House, 256-260 Old Street, London EC1V 9DD [XX% of my estate] or [specific amount]. The receipt of the CEO or other duly authorised officer of the Charity shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.”
