Do I have to run my kilometres?
No, this is your challenge! 50km in 31 days is a little over a mile a day. So, whether you’re a runner looking for more consistency, or looking to add some walking to your routine, this challenge is perfect for you. You could even cycle or swim your kilometres.

How do I log my kms?
You can manually log your distance on JustGiving, or we recommend using Strava or a Fitbit which can be linked to your JustGiving page.
You can also use a pedometer on your phone which often gives you the km equivalent.
Find guidance on linking fitness devices to JustGiving here.
How do I set up my JustGiving page?
Simply click ‘Start fundraising’ and JustGiving will guide you through the process and help you start sharing your page.
Who are Reprieve and what will my donations do?
We are a small team of investigators, lawyers, and campaigners fighting against extreme human rights abuses. We work to end the death penalty, torture, unlawful detention, rendition, and extrajudicial execution.
Reprieve works with people on death row. People held without trial. People subjected to the most brutal abuses of government power. Too often they have been failed by the very systems meant to protect them.
Your donation funds the investigations, casework and resources that we need to stand alongside people facing injustice, for as long as it takes.
How much does it cost to join, and is there a minimum sponsorship target?
Our Stay the Distance Challenge is free to take part in! We will be on hand to help with fundraising, and will send tips and information about what your donations will achieve, to help inspire your supporters.
Our fundraising target is £100, and if you hit it we will send you a Stay the Distance medal once the challenge is complete! We’ll also be on hand to help with fundraising tips and inspiration to help you get there.
Do I need to live in the UK to take part?
You can take part from anywhere in the world! However, please note that while you will be able to fundraise and be part of our community from overseas, we can only send Team Reprieve t-shirts to UK addresses.
Can I do the 50km Challenge with a friend, or as a team?
You can absolutely take on the challenge with a friend, family member, or colleague. We advise you all set up your own fundraising pages.
If you want to do the challenge as part of a team, for example with a group of colleagues – you can set up a team after you have all set up your personal pages. JustGiving has helpful guidance on doing this here.
How do I get a free team Reprieve T-shirt?
We will send you a free running t-shirt when you hit £50 fundraised! We will email you when you are nearing £50.00 raised to organise it to be sent to you.
Is there a prize?
Yes! If you complete the challenge and hit the £100 fundraised target, we will send you a Stay the Distance medal! Medals will be sent after the challenge has wrapped up so you have time to get your fundraising in.
