Jon Snow


Jon Snow is a Patron of Reprieve and a journalist and broadcaster. He has been the face of Channel 4 News since 1989.

Prior to joining the presenting team at Channel 4 he served as ITN’s Washington Correspondent and then Diplomatic Editor.

At Channel 4 he has covered a number of the most significant political events of the past few decades, including the fall of the Berlin Wall and the release of Nelson Mandela. He has also hosted a wide array of discussion and documentary programmes.

Jon has twice received the Royal Television Service’s Presenter of the Year award, and he also won Journalist of the Year in 2006. In 2005 he was awarded the prestigious Richard Dimbleby BAFTA award for Best Factual Contribution to Television.

In addition to his work at Channel 4, Jon is also Chairman of the New Horizon Youth Centre and Deputy Chairman of the Media Trust.
