Paul Hamann's "Execution of a Teenage Girl" wins Best Television Documentary and Docudrama at the Amnesty International Media Awards.
10.07.07
Reprieve Chairman Paul Hamann has executive produced this documentary by Wild Pictures which tells the story of 16 year old Atefah Shaaleh hanged in the northern Iranian town of Neka for "crimes against chastity". Atefah was, despite court papers suggesting she was 22, only 16 when her life was tragically ended. A combination of witness testimony and drama reconstruction "Execution of a Teenage Girl" is a powerful account of the events leading to her execution.
