Public Education
Reprieve is raising the profile of human rights abuses surrounding the death penalty and the war on terror, educating the public and provoking debate.
Reprieve works closely with the media, bringing its cases in the court of public opinion as well as in the courts of law through reports and press releases. Reprieve stages events such as conferences, theatre and public actions to draw attention to the complex issues that emerge when a government’s commitment to human rights and civil liberties is challenged by extreme acts of violence or terrorism. Reprieve also conducts trainings on legal procedure and investigation methods to equip its volunteer workforce for service in overseas jurisdictions.
