| Andy Worthington, Communications Officer

Andy has a degree in English Language and Literature from New College, Oxford, and spent seven years working as a freelance historian and journalist before joining Reprieve in March 2008 as Communications Officer. His responsibilities include liaising with the press and other media, redeveloping Reprieve’s website, and contributing to Reprieve’s research into prisoners held in the ‘War on Terror.’ He is the author of three books, including, most recently, The Guantánamo Files: The Stories of the 774 Detainees in America’s Illegal Prison (Pluto Press, 2007), and has written for a variety of publications, including the New York Times, the Guardian, and Index on Censorship.
