Who we are

Ahmed Ghappour

Ahmed joins us from Orrick Herrington and Suttcliffe, LLP, where he was a member of the Intellectual Property Group and represented two Yemeni prisoners in Guantanamo Bay. He'll be active on Gitmo casework and will be helping us expand our representation to Bagram and elsewhere.

Ahmed received his JD from NYU School of Law where he was a Dean's Merit Scholar. Prior to that, he received a BSE from Rutgers University, with highest honours, and held numerous engineering positions in the high tech sector.

While in law school, Ahmed served as chair of the Islamic Law Students Association, the Middle Eastern Law Students Association and was an Oliver Tambo Summer Fellow at the Institute of Development and Labour Law in Cape Town, South Africa. He has worked extensively with torture survivors in Egypt and has been active in the Arab-American community for over a decade.
