Death Row Scot Kenny Richey Arrives Home
10.01.08
Reprieve is thrilled that Kenny Richey has returned home to Scotland and has been reunited with his family.
Kenny’s return was delayed several hours after his flight from Chicago to Heathrow was cancelled due to bad weather. Kenny was put on another flight to Frankfurt and joined a connecting flight which arrived at Edinburgh airport shortly after 5.30 pm yesterday.
Reprieve's Legal Director Clive Stafford Smith, who has been a member of Kenny's legal team for 15 years, said: “It must be hugely frustrating for Kenny to have had his return to Scotland delayed yet again. It has certainly been a long walk to freedom. What matters most now is that Kenny finds the support he needs to rebuild his life. For many of the people I have known in his position, adjusting to freedom turned out to be the hardest battle of all. ” |
