| Darrell Grayson executed after 24 years on Alabama's Death Row 27.07.07
Darrell Grayson was executed yesterday in Alabama for the 1980 murder of Annie Orr. Grayson, who was 19 at the time of the crime and spent 24 years on death row, had been petitioning the courts to order DNA testing in the case since 2002 but his request was denied. He also unsuccessfully appealed on the grounds that execution by lethal injection constitutes cruel and unusual punishment.
